The Nissan 370Z Nismo takes on a Wingsuit at the Swiss Alps
Nissan is promoting its performance brand Nismo with some spectacular stunts. For their latest advertisement, Nissan teamed up with a racecar driver in a 370Z Nismo, a BASE jumper in a wingsuit and a Juke crossover with three computer screens! Set against the stunning background of Switzerland’s, Nismo Vs. Wingsuit treats the viewer to a two-minute action-packed display of man versus machine featuring Germany’s 2012 Nissan GT Academy Champion Peter Pyzera as he goes head-to-head with world-renowned BASE jumper Dave Barlia.
As Pyzera, in his 370Z Nismo, winds his way along the unforgiving switchback road in a bid to beat the American Barlia who from a height of 4,501 feet, had plunged into the depths
reaching speeds of more than 210km/h (or 130mph), coming within six metres of the dominating rock face equipped with little more than his wingsuit. Biometric information is recorded from both athletes. Using Jukeride a unique analysis tool, the biometric and telematics data from a wingsuit athlete was captured to provide new insights into this incredible sport.
“That was absolutely amazing, I could see Dave up above me and I just had to concentrate and get in the zone to beat him down” said Nismo Athlete Pyzera “ While this is fun, it is serious business – it not only improves my performance it is invaluable in helping me prepare for my next race.”
